Grey Lynn Countdown - A tight site in a live traffic environment
| Application/s: | Anchoring |
| Location: | Auckland |
| Client: | ARMA |
| Main Contractor: | Gibbons Contractors |
| Completed: | Jun 2012 |
| Cost: | $100k - $500k |
The current retaining wall outside of the Countdown in Grey Lynn had been creeping to a point where there was a visible deflection in the middle of the wall. The engineer’s solution was to put anchors through the existing wall and tie them into a new retaining wall. All this was achieved within a tight site in a live traffic environment working in with other subcontractors at the same time. Piletech designed their own connection detail on this job offering a saving to the client and eliminating the need to fill the anchors with concrete.
